Luxury Vintage Shopping, The Sustainable Way To Go

The Nee Vintage - Louis Vuitton

The corner of Louis Vuitton

Luxury vintage stores are no stranger to me as it is literally part of my job to scour all these stores in Europe. However, as much as the vintage stores in Europe reflect its rich history and exciting finds, I often find myself feeling uncomfortable in the musky air & dusty spaces. That was my idea of a vintage store until I chanced upon this treasure in Singapore. Luxury vintage shopping is an up and coming sustainable trend to re-home timeless pieces that are well-loved by previous owners.

The Née Vintage Store is nestled in one of the aisles in Chinatown and is one of the most beautiful vintage store I have been. The chic 2-storey loft style showroom houses luxury vintage from brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, our cult favourite Chanel as well as Fendi and much more. The showroom is decked in tons of beautiful pieces and I definitely spent quite a bit of time looking through all that they have.

The Née Vintage Store

230B South Bridge Rd,

Level 3, Singapore 058779

The Née Vintage is such a chic little store with tons of instagrammable spots. It almost feels like you are walking into someone’s hidden collection of vintage luxuries. Due to the recent pandemic, you have to schedule a visit to the store where you can pick between and English or Mandarin speaking assistant to help you with your picks. Rest assured, there is zero hard selling and the store assistant literally left me to do whatever I want in the store. The space is brightly lit with a generous amount of natural lighting & is air-conditioned for the best shopping experience. I could literally spend hours browsing through the racks.

The line up of pretty vintage Gucci Jackies

When you walk in, there’s a stunning display of vintage Louis Vuitton bags as well as a row of uber chic vintage Gucci Jackies lining up on the racks. It is every fashionista’s dream and I too, managed to score a lovely Jackie that is often seen on supermodel, Kaia Gerber.

The vintage pieces here are all authentic and goes through intense bidding at their Japanese counterpart. Everything is shipped over to Singapore where they have a professional team to clean and touch up the items. My vintage Gucci Jackie was in such pristine quality that I have nothing but praises for that piece. It had no scratches on the leather it the shape was as good as new. It was literally a steal. I love how despite offering such great quality, they kept their prices well within the market range that you can find on competitor vintage platforms. It definitely made shopping vintage much more fun as I got to see, feel & wear the product in person.

The space may seem a little small at first but trust me, despite walking back and forth for almost 5 to 6 times, I still missed out on lots of wonderful finds and only managed to realise it when I joined their WeChat group. They have a WeChat group that provides live updates on their new releases as well as items that are sold. Their customer base reach as far as China itself where things get snatched up in a second.

As you venture deeper into the shop, you will be at the famous The Née Vintage corner where everyone takes their OOTDs. With a giant mirror and a cabinet of Chanel’s in the reflection, it is difficult to resist snapping a photograph. They also have a beautiful display of vintage luxury costume jewellery ranging from Chanel earrings, Dior necklaces, fashion watches as well as Givenchy pieces too.

Their Chanels are of mint to good quality and I definitely had my eyes set on a special Chanel Flap & Chocolate Bar bag. It had signs of use on the inside but it looks absolutely stunning on the exterior. Prices are relatively reasonable for a vintage Chanel piece. For those who are dying to own one but are not comfortable in shelling out $5000 at one go, the store also offers instalment payments in partnership with PACE.

Taking the stairs up to the loft would bring you to my favourite spot - The Fendi Land! It is all things Fendi and after watching their livestream with Camira, I am OBSESSED with the Fendi Mama Baguette. I really do want to own one in the zucca print and am patiently waiting for them to bring it in. Competition for the Fendi Mama is very tough as it gets snapped up in minutes when the news is out.

There are also many stunning Fendi pieces, watches & accessories to finish the look.

Do not forget to explore the little nook at the back of the store where there are more exclusive finds and racks of clothings. If that is something you are into, you are in for a treat! There were a few beautiful Chanel sweaters that caught my eye but unfortunately, due to Singapore’s weather, I had to hold myself back from getting them.

I hope you guys enjoyed my little round up of this quaint vintage store. It definitely sparked an interest in vintage for me and I have a newfound hobby finding beautiful vintage pieces to elevate my outfits. I walked out the store buying a handbag and bracelet and I can’t wait to be back again. Let me know if you visit and please tell me if you managed to score a piece for yourself! Have fun shopping, it releases stress. ;)

xx,

Winter
